POCademy respects user privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly under applicable South African privacy principles, including POPIA.

1. Information we collect

We may collect account details, email addresses, learner profile information, selected subjects, lesson progress, quiz activity, APS calculator interactions, career guidance requests, tutor messages, exam help questions, uploaded attachments, referral codes, promoter profile data, subscription status, transaction references, notification tokens, device information and usage data.

2. How information is used

To create and manage user accounts.
To provide lessons, quizzes, exam papers, tutor support and offline learning features.
To calculate APS guidance and provide course or career-related support.
To manage subscriptions, free trials and access tiers.
To track referrals, promoter rewards and payout claims.
To send notifications about tutor replies, learner questions, subscription updates and platform activity.
To improve reliability, safety and learner experience.

3. Service providers

POCademy may use Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Hosting, AWS S3/CloudFront, Google Play Billing, RevenueCat and other trusted services to operate the platform.

4. Messages and uploaded content

Learner questions, tutor replies, career guidance chats, exam help messages and uploaded files may be stored so the platform can provide support history, moderation, safety and continuity.

5. Payment information

POCademy does not store full card information. Mobile app subscriptions are handled through Google Play Billing and may be managed through RevenueCat. Transaction status and references may be stored for access control, support and accounting.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data may be shared with service providers, payment processors, infrastructure providers and authorities where required by law or fraud prevention.

7. Notifications

Users may choose to enable notifications. Web notifications are only enabled after the user grants browser permission. Notification tokens may be stored to deliver alerts.

8. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted data transmission, access controls and secure cloud infrastructure.

9. Children and learners

POCademy is intended for educational use by secondary school learners. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise minors and contact us regarding privacy concerns.

10. Account deletion

Users may request deletion through the Delete Account page. Some records may be retained where required for legal, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, audit or dispute purposes.
